Our Platform Architecture division plays a crucial role in merging hardware and software into a cohesive system.

As a member of this group, you will collaborate with engineers across various departments to design and implement pioneering prototype systems that enhance our esteemed hardware and software frameworks.

This diverse role integrates insights from low-level software optimization for custom CPU pipelines to system-on-chip (SoC) cache and memory performance analysis.


Your team will create tools essential for ensuring that our products deliver optimal performance.

Our collective efforts will empower millions of customers to trust and rely on our devices daily.


We are in search of a performance model integration engineer to innovate technologies that expedite the development and validation of silicon.

You will engage with our leading silicon engineering and firmware development teams on next-generation chips that reach users globally.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and sustain RTL-based performance models, integrating CPU IP and peripheral components.
- Validate, manage, and deliver models to cross-functional internal stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with engineers from various disciplines (software, architecture, verification, and validation).
- Troubleshoot functionality and performance of extensive IP-based systems using simulation.
- Work autonomously and coordinate deliverables across teams.
- Exhibit excellent communication, analytical, and documentation skills.


Occasional travel may be required to collaborate with development teams.

Essential Qualifications:
- Proficient in HDL programming with Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Familiarity with SystemVerilog and DPI (C/C++) is preferred.
- Understanding of Computer Architecture principles.
- Strong debugging capabilities in both software and hardware environments.
- Experience in developing HDL-based testbenches is essential (UVM experience is not required).
- Preferred experience in creating HDL-based testbenches for Emulation/Acceleration.
- Knowledge of bus functional models and Verification IP is advantageous.
- Experience with C/C++ testbenches is a plus.
- Familiarity with CPU, IP, and SoC performance analysis and latency characterization is preferred.
- X86/ARM Assembly experience is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Xcelium/Modelsim/Synopsis VCS is a plus.
- Experience with waveform debugging is advantageous.
- Scripting or coding skills in Python are a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and prior experience in customer support are preferred.


Educational Background:


- A BS degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.


Compensation & Benefits:


At Apple, base salary is just one aspect of our comprehensive compensation package, which is determined within a specific range.

The salary range for this position is between $135,400 and $250,600, with the final salary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Employees are also eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
