The Memory Care Activities Coordinator plays a crucial role in developing, organizing, and overseeing engaging activities for residents affected by Alzheimer's and dementia. These activities are designed to enhance the overall well-being of our residents, addressing their physical, emotional, and social needs.


Key Responsibilities Include:


1. **Design and Implement Activities:** Create and manage a diverse activities program that offers entertainment, social interaction, physical exercise, and relaxation, catering to the psychological, social, and spiritual needs of memory care residents.

2. **Promote Engagement:** Initiate and facilitate activities both within the community and in external settings to foster resident interest and enhance their quality of life.
3. **Encourage Hobbies:** Support residents in pursuing hobbies and crafts, whether in group settings or individually.
4. **Provide Tailored Activities:** Develop stimulating programs suitable for various levels of cognitive impairment.
5. **Communication and Collaboration:** Assist the Memory Care Director in producing a monthly newsletter and encourage social interaction among residents through group activities.
6. **Spiritual Engagement:** Facilitate residents' participation in religious activities to meet their spiritual needs, including visits from spiritual leaders and attendance at services when possible.
7. **Intellectual Development:** Promote educational growth through literature, films, cultural events, and other creative outlets.
8. **Record Keeping:** Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities and evaluate their responses, reporting any significant observations to the Memory Care Director.
9. **Staff Coordination:** Develop and maintain a plan for securing activity relief personnel during weekdays and weekends.

The Ideal Candidate Will:
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Have experience working with individuals with Alzheimer's, dementia, or related cognitive impairments.
• Demonstrate experience in planning and executing memory care activities for groups of residents.
• Possess or be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
• Understand and adhere to safety and infection control protocols.
• Exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Have basic computer proficiency.
• Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Show a commitment to providing exceptional service and support to residents and their families.
• Display patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude towards older adults.
• Engage professionally with residents, their families, and colleagues.
• Be prepared to undergo a drug screening, TB test, and physical examination.
• Consent to and pass a criminal background check.
