Patient Access Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Memorial Health University Medical Center. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth registration and pre-registration process for patients.
Key Responsibilities- Registration and Pre-Registration: Effectively register and pre-register patients, including obtaining signatures and providing Advance Directive information.
- Clerical and Administrative Functions: Perform general clerical and administrative tasks, including data entry and maintenance of patient records.
- Communication and Liaison: Serve as a liaison between ancillary departments, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
- Financial Collections and Referrals: Conduct financial collections and referrals for Financial Counseling, and interview/prescreen self-pay patients for possible financial assistance.
- Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: Understand and comply with state and federal regulations, as well as hospital, department, and The Joint Commission policies and procedures related to patient access.
- Education: High School Graduate or equivalent required.
- Experience: One year customer service experience preferred, with previous clerical, medical terminology, medical office, registration, or billing experience also preferred.
- Skills and Abilities: Minimum typing skill of 40 WPM preferred, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
