Job SummaryThe Patient Service Representative/Scheduler plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. As the first point of contact for patients, you will be responsible for scheduling appointments, verifying patient information, and ensuring that all necessary authorizations and pre-certifications are in place.
Key Responsibilities- Fulfills patient care responsibilities, including checking schedules and organizing patient flow.
- Collects patient history forms, including current medications, allergies, and symptoms.
- Obtains required personal information to identify patients and update demographic records.
- Verifies patient information on file and updates records as necessary.
- Schedules appointments and radiological testing procedures based on patient needs.
- Announces scheduled patients to clinical staff and confirms appointments with patients.
- Collects and deposits insurance co-payments and deductibles according to specific protocols.
- Monitors patient waiting time and relays information to patients and family members.
- Ensures benefits and eligibility have been verified for all scheduled patients.
- Accurately enters charges and payment information for each service performed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Intermediate computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
