Key Responsibilities

The Senior Client Advisor & Business Insurance Specialist is responsible for managing a portfolio of assigned Commercial Lines accounts, while also marketing to new and existing clients to secure competitive coverage and premiums. This role involves delivering exceptional service to commercial clients and ensuring high customer retention rates. The Client Advisor will conduct thorough coverage assessments and provide strategic recommendations to clients. Additionally, the position entails fostering long-term client relationships, introducing innovative insurance products, and ensuring the relevance of existing insurance programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Promote new products through effective communication with clients.
  • Enhance the profitability of existing product lines by encouraging the use of value-added services.
  • Provide consultation on optimal coverage solutions.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by promptly addressing client inquiries and concerns.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and carrier representatives to stay informed about new and existing products.
  • Prepare comprehensive submissions to insurance carriers, including detailed narratives and loss analyses.
  • Follow up with insurance carriers to ensure timely quotes.
  • Work with producers to gather additional information required for quotes.
  • Verify quotes against the Agency Management System for accuracy.
  • Review and update proposals based on quoted data.
  • Bind coverage and update the Agency Management System accordingly.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to execute strategies effectively.
  • Participate in meetings with carriers to gain market insights.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and stay updated on changes.
  • Negotiate with underwriters to adjust policies as needed to meet client demands.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the Agency Management System (Applied Epic), Microsoft Office, and other relevant software.
  • Maintain technical knowledge of various insurance coverages and policies.
  • Engage in training and seminars for skill enhancement.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

Education:
  • High School Diploma required.
Professional Certifications/Licenses:
  • Property/Casualty License required.
  • Maintain Agent/Broker License through ongoing education.
  • Earn or maintain CISR Designation.
Experience/Skills:
  • Minimum of 5 years of insurance experience required.
  • Familiarity with Agency Management Systems.
  • Experience with Applied Epic is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of Acord forms.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Interest in relationship management and networking.
  • Demonstrate integrity, trustworthiness, and discretion.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Results-driven with a focus on meeting responsibilities and deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
  • Ability to generate and implement innovative ideas.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience, with potential for annual merit increases. Benefits include 11 paid holidays, paid vacation, medical, vision, and dental insurance, a 401K plan with a generous match, pension, tuition reimbursement, and additional perks.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands for this position may include standing, walking, or sitting, as well as using hands and fingers for tasks. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to focus.
