Job Summary

Ojo Spa Resorts is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Operations Manager to oversee and manage the facilities department. This role involves evaluating administrative needs, implementing efficient processes, and ensuring the smooth operation of facility-related activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Management: Oversee and manage the facilities department, ensuring satisfactory completion of tasks and projects.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Maintain all equipment and systems in operational status, including adherence to industry standards and regulations.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Ensure proper completion of the Preventive Maintenance Program for guest rooms, public areas, and safety systems.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control: Prepare and control the facilities department budget, including yearly budget preparations and monthly expense forecasting.
  • Energy and Water Management: Forecast and manage energy and water usage, associated costs, and CAPEX expenditures.
  • Landscaping and Pool Operations: Handle landscaping operations, pool operations, and water treatment for closed systems.
  • Vendor Management: Source cost-effective products and monitor the resort's energy consumption daily and monthly.
  • Employee Management: Recruit, schedule, and manage payroll, training, and development for facilities staff.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure departmental health and safety, statutory compliance, and training programs.
  • Emergency Response: Manage the Resort emergency response team in coordination with Security and Resort management.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a diverse team in general maintenance, HVAC, kitchen repairs, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and grounds maintenance.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A minimum of 5+ years in a facilities manager, or assistant facilities manager role preferably in a hospitality/resort setting. Bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related field (or equivalent experience), or a technical degree with 8+ years in a similar field including project management experience.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience in facilities management, including strong knowledge of maintenance systems, preventative maintenance programs, and successful work order systems. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to negotiate with third parties and contractors.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office, computerized maintenance systems, and relevant software. Valid driver's license required.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, crawl, bend, twist, and have good manual dexterity. Requires auditory and visual skills.
