Position Summary

The Ground Support Equipment Technician I will undergo training to execute preventive maintenance and repairs on various ground support and stationary equipment, including loading bridges, air conditioning units, baggage handling systems, ground power units, and more, ensuring all tasks are completed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, repairs, replacements, and overhauls of ground support equipment and its components.
  • Develop the ability to interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, coolant replacements, and tire servicing on ground equipment.
  • Assist in minor and major repairs of equipment, including carburetors, starter motors, alternators, batteries, radiators, hydraulic components, and diesel engines under the guidance of a Lead Technician.
  • Safely transport vehicles for repair by driving or towing them into the service area.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in optimal working condition.
  • Report any safety violations or equipment misuse to supervisors.
  • Adhere to all applicable regulations and company policies.
  • Ensure the work area is kept clean and free from hazards.
  • Other related duties may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in heavy diesel vehicle maintenance is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • Possession of a valid certification (ASE) or other Diesel Certification is advantageous.
