Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Ground Support Equipment Supervisor at Howell Instruments Inc. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a proven track record of success in maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Day-to-Day Operations: Oversee the daily activities of the GSE repair department, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Coordinate and oversee the maintenance and repair of aircraft ground support equipment, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Equipment Management: Manage the inventory of GSE equipment, ensuring that all necessary tools and equipment are available and in good working order.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of technicians and mechanics, providing guidance and support to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and reliability.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities for team members, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with other departments and stakeholders, ensuring that all needs are met and that all work is completed efficiently and effectively.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent, plus technical training.
  • Experience: Minimum three years of supervisory experience in a maintenance shop environment, with a minimum of five years of proven preventative maintenance, tire, and brake experience on medium to heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Certifications: ASE Master Technician Certification and/or Military AGE experience preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent technical, interpersonal, supervisory, and time management skills, with the ability to be a critical thinker and active listener.
