About the Role

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist Level II to join our team in Fontana, California.

Job Summary

The Surgical Technologist-II works under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician, ensuring safe and quality patient care during surgical procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of surgical procedures and the ability to anticipate the needs of the surgeon.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in surgical procedures as a member of the surgical team, passing instruments and supplies as directed.
  • Recognize and respond to emergency situations, assisting the surgeon and other team members as needed.
  • Assist with tissue retraction, limb support, and instrument handling.
  • Ensure instruments are clean and functioning properly.
  • Request additional supplies during surgery as needed.
  • Assist the surgeon with closing, suturing, stapling, cauterizing, and bandaging the patient.
  • Suction blood and other fluids from the operating field.
Requirements
  • Two years of Operating Room scrub experience within the last three years and competency scrubbing for a variety of surgical procedures.
  • National Center for Competency Testing Certificate - Technologist in Surgery or Surgical Technologist Certificate from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
