Position Summary: VMD Corp, in collaboration with Xcelerate Solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to deliver IT support services for federal law enforcement initiatives. This role involves maintaining an automated, open-source information collection application within a dynamic team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to operations and maintenance best practices for both cloud and on-premises environments, systems, applications, and tools.
  • Enhance system functionality through the design, development, and maintenance of existing and new features to support automated processes.
  • Evaluate the impacts of cloud services, focusing on cost and performance, while applying best practices to optimize these factors.
  • Oversee software and hardware performance, utilizing custom monitoring tools to ensure operational continuity.
  • Execute system operations across various operating systems, including Linux and Windows.
  • Validate and manage data extraction from diverse sources, employing scripts and automated solutions.
  • Administer existing APIs and Application Services, identifying opportunities for process automation.
  • Support the maintenance and optimization of databases across multiple platforms.
  • Facilitate the development and sustainment of automated ETL pipelines using a variety of tools.
  • Implement new system requirements and security updates to maintain compliance and system integrity.
  • Assist in the creation and documentation of system design documents and operational procedures.
  • Promote collaborative system delivery through effective configuration management and automation practices.
  • Deliver scalable and secure solutions using infrastructure as code (IaC) methodologies.
  • Design and maintain data analytics and forecasting solutions that accommodate large data volumes.
  • Support leadership in enhancing technical agility and capability through cloud technologies.
  • Ensure system capabilities are secure, resilient, and optimized for data sharing.
  • Manage cloud architectures and CI/CD pipelines for service deployment.
  • Monitor systems for security incidents and maintain a robust security infrastructure.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and ensure compliance with security protocols.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in software development.
  • Proficiency in mobile platform development, including web mobile and microservices.
  • Familiarity with Gopher and proxy creation techniques.
