The Dynetics Weapon Sector is looking for a software engineering product manager to oversee the development of software applications and tools for a ground-based missile launch system.

This role requires open and direct communication with clients, stakeholders, and team members to refine software component requirements and designs.

The position provides opportunities for significant contributions to User Experience (UX), software quality, safety, graphics design, aesthetic design, iteration plans, release schedules, and timely implementation.

Software development will primarily utilize C++ and Python.

Our innovative, technology-driven team operates in a self-disciplined environment using the Agile Scrum framework within a customized CMMI-based software process.


Responsibilities include:
Leading three or more distinct software development teams in an Agile setting

Overseeing configuration management of various software products and their functionalities

Managing software development efforts of subcontractor teams

Collecting, managing, and reporting software metrics to internal and external leadership

Overseeing cost, schedule, and staffing resources for each software team

Coordinating software activities across Software Systems Engineering, Software Testing, Software Safety, and Software Quality

Basic Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following:

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.

A minimum of 15 years of relevant technical experience in the software engineering field.


At least 10 years of experience with the Department of Defense Acquisition product development process related to software and systems development & sustainment for complex systems.

At least 5 years of experience managing software development teams in an Agile environment.

Proven expertise in data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and object-oriented programming principles.

Demonstrated experience in developing software products

using C#, C++, and Python programming languages.

applying software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies.

that adhere to relevant DoD Cybersecurity regulations, standards, and security protocols.

that meet DoD software safety requirements (MIL-STD 882 and AMCOM)

Strong leadership skills, organizational abilities, and a solid work ethic to coordinate tasks for multiple software development teams. Scrum Master experience is advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications:
The preferred candidate should have demonstrated experience with:

Multiple programming languages and automated unit testing.

ICDs and open architecture.

A strong understanding of firmware/VHDL code development and verification as it pertains to complex system design

Coordination across various small software development teams

Mentoring developers and providing constructive feedback.
