Job Overview

Ampersand Solutions Group (AMPERSAND) is in search of a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will:

  • Oversee and refine the process of validating that software and system products function correctly and adhere to specified requirements and designs.
  • Coordinate the testing lifecycle, which includes defining test requirements, planning, executing tests, and reporting results.
  • Provide expert technical guidance in testing methodologies and product knowledge, crafting test procedures and developing comprehensive test plans.
  • Set up necessary hardware and software environments to facilitate testing and offer technical insights on specific products and operating systems.

Evaluation and Assessment:

Conduct thorough evaluations of various software products, covering all stages of the development lifecycle, from specifications and design verification to coding, testing, and validating results data.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an ABET accredited degree in Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, particularly in software/system testing.
  • Proficiency in regression and performance testing.
  • Familiarity with the IEEE Standard for Software Verification and Validation.
  • Experience in systems and interoperability-level testing.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with programming languages such as C/C++ or Ada.
  • Background in generating test report documentation.
  • Familiarity with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Static Code Analyzers (e.g., Fortify, Coverity).
