About the Role

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As an Electrical Engineer III, you'll play a critical role in designing and developing cutting-edge avionics systems for our New Shepard program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers to deliver high-performance avionics hardware systems
  • Design, develop, and verify electronic systems for various flight vehicles
  • Collaborate with technical leads to drive requirements definition, modeling, analysis, design, test, and production release of on-vehicle launch, flight, and power management components and sub-systems
  • Develop and implement electronic requirements, architecture concepts, detailed design, development, and test
  • Participate in formal verification, environmental qualification, release, and flight support activities
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in the design of complex hardware
  • Knowledge and experience with SI, PI, and fundamentals of circuit and CCA analysis
  • Ability to work hands-on, both independently and as part of a team, throughout the design, verification, qualification, and production phases of the electronic product lifecycle
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Physics, or related subject areas
  • 8+ years of experience in design, development, integration, test, and operation of Avionics systems or vehicles
  • Proven experience specifying and crafting high-reliability safety-critical electronics; familiarity with IPC-A-600/610, DO-254, and similar standards
  • Background with launch vehicle hardware development, integration, and test
  • Experience developing embedded software or firmware for 32-bit microcontrollers, DSPs, and FPGAs
