Electrical Power Systems Hardware Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Power Systems Hardware Engineer to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our electrical power systems team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing high and medium power systems for our spacecraft.

Your expertise in electrical power systems, including high and low voltage distribution, power regulation, and conversion, will be essential in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our spacecraft.

You will work closely with our firmware, software, systems, and mechanical engineers to deliver full operational and integrated flight hardware.

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of our Lunar Transportation system, which will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.

We are looking for someone with a strong background in electrical engineering, experience with analog and digital circuit design, and a passion for our mission and vision.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead high and low voltage, avionic designs that interact with electrical power consumers.
  • Own the design, analysis, prototyping, and testing of electrical power systems hardware.
  • Support power regulation and distribution architecture trade studies, analyses, and performance characterization.
  • Participate in program level technology development, mission assurance, and safety initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related disciplines.
  • 8+ years of experience in design, development, test, and operation of vehicle Avionics systems.
  • Expertise in designing both isolated and non-isolated power converter common topologies.
  • Familiarity with many of the following parts and their usage: ADCs, DACs, OpAmps, power supplies, processors, and MOSFETs.

Desired:

Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or related disciplines.Basic or better knowledge of radiation effects on electronics and how to apply this to designs targeting space applications.Demonstrated experience designing high reliability safety-critical, Class 2/3 board assemblies.
