About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Satellite Operations Engineer to join our team at Maxar Technologies. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our satellites, as well as commanding and monitoring their performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-contact verifications with Mission Control Systems to ensure successful communication with the spacecraft.
  • Ensure spacecraft tasking and planning provides error-free output to reduce the risk of faulting any of the spacecraft within the Maxar constellation.
  • Perform in-contact spacecraft commanding and state of health assessments to ensure the health and safety of the spacecraft is maintained.
  • Perform out-of-contact spacecraft telemetry trending and analysis to ensure continued health and safety of the spacecraft out of view of a ground station.
  • Investigate spacecraft limit violations and up-channel any violations to a Flight Operations Manager or Spacecraft Engineering.
  • Recognize and up-channel anomalous spacecraft conditions to the Flight Operations Manager or Mission Director.
  • Maintain awareness and comprehension of system changes to ensure operational compliance.
  • Generate spacecraft availability reports for the Spacecraft Engineering team.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and possess an active Secret security clearance.
  • Associate's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field. Two additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years in an operational environment.
  • This position requires 24/7 rotational shift work on a five-week rotating schedule.
