Job Title: Night Auditor - Financial Operations Specialist

The Night Auditor - Financial Operations Specialist is a critical role in our hotel's operations, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. As a Night Auditor, you will be the first point of contact for guests and associates during the overnight shift, and will be responsible for maintaining a high level of customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Register guests and make reservations, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of guest information.
  • Prepare and balance daily financial reports, including cash handling and credit card transactions.
  • Conduct security walks and ensure the safety of guests and associates, maintaining a secure and welcoming environment.
  • Perform cashiering responsibilities and maintain the front office computer system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Initiate and complete the End of Day process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and balanced.
  • Run reports as required for Food and Beverage audit, analyzing financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Complete the Night Audit checklist for computer procedures daily, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Balance the day's work, including movie revenue, telephone postings, valet, laundry, server's and desk agent's paperwork, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and ensure the smooth operation of the front desk, providing exceptional service to guests and associates.
Requirements:
  • At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field, with a strong understanding of financial operations and customer service principles.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required, with a strong emphasis on math and financial literacy.
  • College course work in a related field is helpful, with a focus on finance, accounting, or hospitality management.
  • Previous supervisory responsibility is preferred, with experience in leading teams and managing financial operations.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision, with a strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Knowledge of Accounting Principles and financial software, with experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot in order to resolve guest issues, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations, with a strong emphasis on maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in working with diverse teams and stakeholders.
