As a vital member of a dedicated team comprising specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will engage in the hands-on design, development, and assessment of turbomachinery for different spaceflight systems. Your contributions will significantly influence all facets of turbomachinery and rocket engine development and functionality. This role offers the chance to oversee turbomachinery components throughout their entire lifecycle, employing a swift and effective approach to enhance our turbomachinery systems, thereby improving the capability and reliability of our launch vehicles and broadening human access to space.

To excel in this role, you should possess a proven history of successful project delivery, a robust grasp of mechanical design principles, self-drive, and a keen interest in designing, constructing, testing, and understanding rocket engine turbopump components within a dynamic and expanding team. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • 8+ years of demonstrated experience in turbomachinery component design, development, and/or testing support
  • Strong understanding of hardware fabrication and quality assurance
  • Expertise in data analysis and post-processing to evaluate component performance
  • Fundamental knowledge of turbomachinery component design and manufacturing processes
  • Solid comprehension of mechanical design principles, including proficiency in GD&T
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or legally admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • Experience with quality management systems related to aerospace and propulsion hardware
  • Experience in transitioning products from development to production
  • Experience with product production, qualification testing, and flight operations
  • Ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams
  • Experience with turbomachinery specific to rocket engine applications
  • Familiarity with cryogenic fluids and oxygen compatibility
  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, assembly area, or testing facility
  • Proven leadership in anomaly investigations and root cause analysis
  • Fundamental understanding of rocket turbopump architecture and fluid dynamics

Compensation: The compensation range for on-site applicants is $136,467-$191,053.
