Job Title: Project Manager - Water Construction

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team at Flatiron Construction. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the mechanical aspects of a single project contract, ensuring compliance with owner expectations, contract specifications, and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the project, including construction, budget, and cash management.
  • Develop and manage the project schedule, pay estimates, project procedures, staffing requirements, and equipment resources.
  • Assess initial project contract and supporting documents for completeness.
  • Work with the owner to resolve specification, contract conflict, and scheduling issues.
  • Oversee engineering and scheduling teams to identify and negotiate proposed change orders.
  • Create and present monthly cost and revenue forecasts and reports to Flatiron leadership.
  • Perform additional assignments as directed by management.
  • Maintain working relationships with Flatiron supporting departments and project owners.
  • Operate as the main point of contact for third-party stakeholders.
  • Review and approve internal and external media news releases.
  • Ensure project safety reviews and procedures are followed.
  • Support the safety programs of the project and owner safety programs.
  • Review and approve staffing and equipment needs for efficient and effective project production.
  • Participate in dispute resolution processes.
  • Provide input on equipment procurement methods and contracts.
  • Lead project closeout procedures and finalize contract paperwork.
  • Maintain knowledge of company values and strategic plan.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in construction project management.
  • 6+ years of experience supervising the mechanical aspects of a water construction project.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing personnel.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field (plus).
  • Proven experience in bid-build, CMCG, design-build, and other alternative delivery projects.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage and retain positive working relationships.
  • Strong developed skill to identify, track, and manage project risk.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively manage multiple departments and direct reports.
  • Ability to identify growth opportunities for project personnel and develop coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, including Excel.
  • Knowledge of Primavera P6 or other scheduling software.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or requests for changes/claims from subcontractors, management, coworkers, regulatory agencies, or owners.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to executive management and/or public groups.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
