Position Overview:
The Supervisory Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor plays a crucial role in leading the Veteran Readiness and Employment (VRE) Program, which encompasses a range of technical, administrative, and professional responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Act as the primary authority within the Regional Office for all matters related to education, training, testing, evaluation, counseling, rehabilitation, psychology, job development, job placement, and entitlements.
2. Provide strategic oversight and professional guidance to a diverse team of Counseling Psychologists, Rehabilitation Counselors, Vocational Rehabilitation Specialists, Employment/Program Specialists, and support personnel, ensuring effective collaboration and service delivery.
3. Supervise Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors (VRCs) and associated staff across various locations, including Regional Offices and educational institutions, ensuring adherence to program standards and objectives.
4. Formulate both short-term and long-term operational plans to guarantee timely and high-quality service delivery, aligning with evolving initiatives from VA Central Office and local management policies.
5. Ensure that staff deliver exceptional services to veterans with service-connected disabilities, including vocational counseling, case management, and consultation services.
6. Manage budgetary allocations effectively, overseeing expenditures related to staff travel, beneficiary services, and educational resources.
7. Facilitate the direct payment of benefits to veterans and their dependents, significantly impacting the agency's operations and outreach.
8. Establish clear goals and priorities for the division, ensuring alignment with the overall mission of the Regional Office.
9. Engage with senior management and external stakeholders, including representatives from local, state, and federal agencies, to enhance program effectiveness and outreach.
Decision-Making Authority:
1. Develop and implement operational strategies that meet the evolving needs of the program while ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
2. Address personnel-related matters, including performance evaluations, training needs, and disciplinary actions, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a master's degree in a relevant field and demonstrate significant experience in vocational rehabilitation services. Specialized experience in managing rehabilitation programs and delivering direct services to individuals with disabilities is essential.
Work Environment:
