In the role of Wine Waiter, you will be responsible for serving guests and crew, delivering a refined bar service consistently. Your contributions will enhance the overall experience for both passengers and crew, while strictly adhering to the company's service protocols. Our onboard venues are among the most opulent at sea, and maintaining a pristine environment is paramount. You will be expected to operate and care for all bar equipment properly, promptly reporting any maintenance needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Chief Sommelier with wine-related tasks.
  • Conduct talks, tastings, and presentations for guests.
  • Prepare wine pre-orders and ensure timely placement on tables for service.
  • Engage confidently with guests, providing insights and addressing wine inquiries.
  • Serve wine and beverages to guests, officers, and crew while adhering to Responsible Service of Alcohol guidelines.
  • Proactively drive wine sales and profitability by promoting special offers and advising on wine pairings.
  • Follow established cleaning routines and ensure all items, including glassware and equipment, meet the required standards.

Qualifications:

  • WSET Level 2 in Wines and Spirits or equivalent preferred, along with relevant industry experience.
  • Level 2 Award in Food Safety or similar qualification.
  • Prior experience as a sommelier in a 4 or 5-star establishment.
  • A genuine passion for sharing wine knowledge with others.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English.
