In the role of Wine Waiter, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to both passengers and crew members, ensuring a top-tier bar experience at all times. Your efforts will enhance the enjoyment of our guests while strictly adhering to company service protocols. Our onboard venues are among the most opulent at sea, and maintaining a pristine environment is essential. You will be tasked with the proper use and upkeep of all bar equipment, promptly reporting any maintenance needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Chief Sommelier with wine-related activities.
- Conduct talks, tastings, and presentations for guests.
- Prepare wine pre-orders and ensure timely placement on tables for service.
- Engage confidently and professionally with guests, providing insights and answering inquiries about wine.
- Serve wine and beverages to guests, officers, and crew while adhering to Responsible Service of Alcohol policies.
- Proactively promote wine sales and enhance profitability by highlighting special offers and advising on wine pairings.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all items, including glasses, equipment, and bottles, to meet established standards.
Qualifications:
- WSET Level 2 in Wines and Spirits or equivalent preferred, along with relevant industry experience.
- Level 2 Award in Food Safety or equivalent.
- Prior experience as a sommelier in a 4 or 5-star establishment.
- A genuine passion for sharing wine knowledge with others.
- Strong command of written and spoken English.
