Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Wet Section Operator to join our team at Precoat Metals. As a key member of our coating line, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our wet section process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tank Management: Control and maintain tank levels, temperatures, and chemical concentrations to meet production requirements.
  • Chemical Handling: Safely handle and transfer chemicals, including titrations, water additions, and chemical additions to maintain proper concentration and cleanliness.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain equipment, including temp controllers, pumps, and scrubber brushes, to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and record sample information, including conductivity probe operation and troubleshooting.
  • Process Optimization: Collaborate with the water treatment operator to optimize tank transfers, chemical additions, and other process parameters to meet production goals.
  • Housekeeping and Safety: Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 6S standards, and ensure a safe working environment by following all safety and work rules.
Requirements
  • Education: High school level reading and writing, visual acuity to read labels, meters, gauges, documents, and instructions.
  • Experience: Six months work experience in an industrial or warehouse environment with fork lifts, and 6 to 12 months previous experience on a coating line is preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to safely operate small manual and electric hand tools, and knowledge of and ability to make quick decisions when supervision is not readily available.
Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding role that requires the ability to work in extreme temperatures, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and stand for extended periods of time. The successful candidate will also be required to work up to 12 hours per day on rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
