Job Title: Sr. Environmental Health & Safety Manager

Overview:

Benchmade Knife Company, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Environmental Health & Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive EHS programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement EHS Programs: Create and execute EHS programs that meet or exceed regulatory requirements, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
  • Conduct Audits and Risk Assessments: Regularly conduct audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Monitor and Interpret Regulations: Stay up-to-date on changing regulations and standards, ensuring our practices and policies are compliant and effective.
  • Lead Investigations and Root Cause Analysis: Investigate EHS incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and develop preventive measures to prevent future occurrences.
  • Prepare and Submit Reports: Prepare and submit required environmental and safety reports to regulatory agencies.
  • Develop Emergency Response Plans: Create and maintain emergency response plans and procedures, ensuring preparedness for potential incidents.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with internal departments and external stakeholders to address and resolve EHS challenges.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field, with a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in EHS roles.
  • EHS Certification: Possess EHS certification and a proven track record of developing and implementing successful EHS programs.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of hazardous materials management, waste characterization, and environmental hazards in a manufacturing facility, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
