Job Title: ASO Bilingual Clinician

Salary Range: $40.00/hour for admin tasks

Position: Onsite; White Plains NY

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bilingual Clinician to join our team at Greater Mental Health of New York. As a key member of our Adult Sex Offender (ASO) Program, you will be responsible for providing sex offender-specific behavioral health services to individuals on probation related to a sex offense and their families when indicated.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide culturally sensitive direct clinical services, including sex-offender-specific assessment and treatment planning, and group psychotherapy.
  2. Document client progress to maintain a permanent record of client activity according to established methods and procedures.
  3. Integrate findings of psychosexual evaluations into treatment.
  4. Conduct case conferences with probationers and the probation department.
  5. Identify case management needs of clients and coordinate with other agency staff and community agencies to have these needs met.
  6. Collaborate with Probation/Parole and polygrapher.
  7. Prepare status reports and documentation for court.
  8. Perform crisis intervention as necessary.
  9. Participate in program development and in training programs.
  10. Follow the established clinic policies & procedures.
  11. Maintain appropriate professional standards.
  12. Other designated or related duties.

Key Competencies:

  1. Fluency in conversational and written Spanish.
  2. Principles, practices, and methods of community mental health treatment, including interviewing, assessment, group counseling, and crisis intervention.
  3. Applicable city, state, and federal guidelines and laws affecting mental health treatment, services, and reporting procedures.
  4. Principles of psychological growth, development, and psychopathology.
  5. Knowledge of community mental health resources.
  6. Understanding the impact of culture on mental health practices.
  7. Knowledge of principles and practices of group psychotherapy, with specific awareness of sex offense-specific issues.
  8. Knowledge of various theoretical and treatment models pertaining to sex-offending behavior, including but not limited to CBT, the Good Lives Model, and Risk/Need/Responsivity Model.
  9. Knowledge of the science of polygraphy and how to utilize questionnaires to prepare individuals for the polygraph exam and incorporate findings into treatment.
  10. Ability to facilitate the chaperone/safeguard process.
  11. Knowledge of risk assessment measures and dynamic risk factors.
  12. Understanding of the results/findings of psychosexual evaluations, how to address the findings with the probationers, and how to integrate results and recommendations.
  13. Knowledge of behavioral techniques which assist with modifying probationers' behaviors related to sex offending.
  14. Understanding of trauma-informed care.
  15. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and cultural humility.

Requirements:

  1. Fluency in conversational and written Spanish.
  2. The Clinician must be, in active status, a New York State LCSW, LMSW, LMHC or Ph.D. Psychologist with sex offender expertise.
  3. The Clinician must be reliable and able to work independently and understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality.
  4. Basic computer knowledge and the ability to document in an electronic health record is required.
  5. Greater Mental Health does not provide malpractice insurance coverage for consultants. Consultants must obtain their own insurance and name the agency as an additional insured party.
  6. Must maintain pre-employment clearances by applicable regulatory clearances as required.
  7. The Clinician must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
