Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at White Plains Hospital. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of our department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough physical exams, assess patient health status, and develop treatment plans in collaboration with physicians.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and provide patient education on health and wellness.
  • Consult with physicians as needed and refer patients to specialists when necessary.
  • Round on surgical inpatients, facilitate patient care, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, team discharge rounds, and other clinical activities.
  • Monitor patient therapies, provide continuity of care, and triage patient calls and concerns.
  • Counsel patients and families on health care matters, document patient information, and maintain accurate medical records.
Requirements
  • Nurse Practitioner:
    • Master's degree in nursing from an accredited school (highly recommended)
    • Current NYS license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse
    • Current NYS certification as a Nurse Practitioner (either Adult/Geriatric)
    • Maintains a current collaborative practice agreement
    • Current National Certification
    • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) highly recommended
  • Physician Assistant:
    • Current New York State Licensed Physician Assistant
    • Current National Certification
    • Current White Plains Hospital Physician Assistant DOP
    • Master's degree from an accredited school (highly recommended)
    • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) highly recommended

Physical and Mental Demands

This position requires standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting. May require transferring patients. May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks.
