Position Overview:

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for overseeing the ordering and delivery of mass production components through strategic planning, effective communication, and supplier engagement. This role requires applying technical expertise and problem-solving abilities to prevent operational disruptions and support departmental goals. Key responsibilities include managing material procurement, production scheduling, inventory oversight, outsourcing, supplier process management, and implementing corrective actions. The specialist will also identify, assess, and select suppliers that align with our standards for cost, quality, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of process-related systems for assigned suppliers and components, ensuring adequate inventory levels to support production operations.
  • Establish and nurture communication channels with suppliers to foster positive relationships focused on delivery performance.
  • Identify and escalate critical issues to management, ensuring timely resource allocation and developing specific countermeasures to mitigate risks.
  • Enhance communication networks internally and externally to ensure operational success and awareness within the department.
  • Collaborate with project leaders to support all Mass Production initiatives, ensuring that Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met by addressing potential downtime and other risks.
  • Manage design change activities for new models and mass production in close collaboration with suppliers to minimize production impact and costs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement countermeasures to resolve complex issues through active engagement in Gemba activities.
  • Pursue continuous improvement by applying the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle in areas such as supplier ordering and design change management.
  • Facilitate the development of self and team members through training and mentoring to ensure succession planning and growth.
  • Support the company's vision and business initiatives by leading or participating in relevant projects within the core job function.

Candidate Profile:

Required Experience:

  • 0-4 years of experience, depending on educational background.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with inventory management and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting complex issues in a collaborative environment.
  • Consistently identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Ability to analyze data and apply business insights to solve problems.
  • Experience in leading project initiatives effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
