Mortenson is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Wind Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and resolving field coordination issues with project team members and participants.
Key Responsibilities- Project Coordination: Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft persons.
- Quality Management: Implement the pre-construction quality plan, obtain and maintain all necessary construction permits, and work with the Project Manager for fee payments or recurring permit expenses.
- Documentation Management: Develop and maintain material tracking lists, project test and inspection listings, and concrete placement logs. Manage, create, and distribute contract documents, and establish handling procedures for electronic documents.
- Testing and Inspection: Manage all aspects of testing and inspection processes for the construction quality management program, including implementing a three-phase inspection system and establishing reporting formats and protocols.
- Submittals: Set up registers in accordance with project specifications, obtain customer/architect approval, and prepare project-specific transmittal forms. Coordinate the packaging, review, and processing of submittals, and expedite submittals to ensure material deliveries are in sync with the project schedule.
- Communication: Communicate details and requirements for the submittal process to subcontractors and suppliers, issue submittal requirement letters, and provide periodic updates of the submittal register to the customer or architect.
- Team Management: Responsible for mentoring, managing, and timely performance evaluation of field engineers, and other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of two years related construction experience.
- Detail orientation sufficient to organize and effectively manage multiple tasks.
- Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
- Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven positive and professional attitude and customer service skills.
- Current driver's license.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management.
