This position is essential during the academic terms when the college is operational.

The Coordinator is responsible for providing office support and assisting with various time-sensitive interlibrary loan activities. This includes searching stacks, managing incoming and outgoing materials, and overseeing document scanning and delivery from the on-campus storage facility. Attention to detail is crucial, as some tasks may be repetitive.

Key Responsibilities:
- Execute document delivery and manage scanning requests for materials held at the storage facility.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to external libraries and campus patrons, clarifying interlibrary loan policies and resolving citation issues.
- Uphold strict patron confidentiality while processing interlibrary loan lending requests from external libraries.
- Conduct library catalog and journal searches to verify ownership, availability, and location of requested materials.
- Process journal requests and deliver articles through various channels.
- Prepare pull slips for efficient searching of requested items in the stacks.
- Verify, locate, and request items from other libraries for use by Skidmore students, faculty, and staff.
- Assist in training and supervising student assistants, providing feedback on their performance.
- Manage outgoing shipments of materials, ensuring compliance with shipping requirements.

Qualifications:
- An Associate's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a library environment is required, with preference for candidates familiar with interlibrary loan systems and library databases.

Successful Candidates Will Demonstrate:
- Knowledge of library operations and the ability to navigate library catalogs and databases.
- Proficiency in using interlibrary loan equipment and computer-based programs.
- Adaptability to new technologies and platforms.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding library records.

Physical Requirements:
This role involves physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and moving library materials. The Coordinator must be able to travel across campus to the storage facility regularly and may participate in collection shifting projects as needed.
