GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Beauty Brand Consultant (BBC) plays a crucial role in driving sales for select brands under the Estee Lauder Companies, including color cosmetics, skincare, and fragrance. This position involves engaging with customers to understand their unique needs and guiding them in selecting and purchasing products. All tasks are performed while upholding the store's standards of cleanliness and organization. The BBC embodies the essence, products, and culture of Ulta Beauty and the brands they represent, such as MAC, Clinique, and Estee Lauder. This role supports the Experience Manager by focusing on performance metrics, customer service, and operational processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The BBC is an advocate for Ulta Beauty's mission and values, consistently demonstrating them through the following duties:

Performance

  • Achieve or surpass sales targets for MAC, Clinique, and Estee Lauder brands while contributing to overall store goals related to retail and service sales.
  • Enhance business growth by meeting sales objectives, utilizing product services, and fostering customer loyalty.
  • Promote the benefits of the customer loyalty program, including credit options and the Ulta Beauty app, to enhance guest engagement.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service by creating a welcoming atmosphere, greeting and engaging every customer, and personalizing their shopping experience.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to drive sales for MAC, Clinique, and Estee Lauder brands.
  • Handle transactions, refunds, and exchanges with professionalism.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of MAC, Clinique, and Estee Lauder brands, sharing insights with customers and team members.
  • Conduct makeup applications, skincare consultations, and product demonstrations to elevate the customer experience.
  • Facilitate and support in-store events that enhance customer engagement while achieving sales goals.
  • Stay informed about promotions and marketing initiatives across all product categories.
  • Utilize the clientele system to gather customer information and follow up to strengthen loyalty.
  • Proactively stay updated on industry trends and product knowledge to better assist customers.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.

People

  • Foster an inclusive environment that supports colleagues and customers alike.
  • Build strong partnerships with MAC, Clinique, and Estee Lauder brand representatives through training and event participation.
  • Address and resolve customer concerns in alignment with Ulta Beauty's standards.

Process

  • Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty's policies and procedures.
  • Understand opportunities related to MAC, Clinique, and Estee Lauder products within the store.
  • Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code and brand image expectations.
  • Maintain a well-organized and replenished work area to support sales efforts.
  • Uphold cleanliness and operational standards in assigned areas.
  • Participate in inventory management and merchandising tasks as needed.
  • Protect company assets by following loss prevention protocols while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Execute additional operational tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Cosmetology or demonstrator license as required by state law.

Experience

  • Preferred experience in cosmetics artistry.

Skills

  • Demonstrated passion and proficiency in sales and customer service.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in managing customer concerns and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Participation in brand-sponsored training sessions.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Frequent mobility during shifts.
  • Regular standing, bending, and reaching throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 10 lbs. consistently.
  • Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during shifts.
