Trust Accounting and Reporting Specialist
The Trust Accounting and Reporting Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial and regulatory reports. This position is responsible for overseeing and executing critical reconciliation activities related to Comerica Trust's outsourced Trust Operations. As the primary contact for reconciliation and reporting activities, this individual will also handle inquiries received from Finance, Senior Leadership, Internal Audit, and Corporate Compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of accounting, analytical, and financial reporting duties to ensure client and investor activity reporting is prepared and completed appropriately.
  • Serve as a technical accounting expert without management responsibilities and provide guidance and expertise to team members and partners.
  • Prepare financial information for regulators, finance, and senior leadership, including reports and analyses.
  • Communicate with partners to resolve discrepancies and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Create and balance reports from the Trust Accounting System with outside partner firms and the outsourced Trust Operations vendor.
  • Oversee fee activities that impact areas outside of Trust Operations, including fee reversals, pending fee deletions, miscellaneous fees, and external investment advisor fee reporting.
  • Generate Global FX Currency, Global Market Value, and Transactions reporting for impacted business units and transactional databases.
  • Meet and/or exceed SLA requirements for all assigned tasks.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot discrepancies and provide correction recommendations to leadership.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Act as a mentor to colleagues, providing training, advice, expertise, and guidance to support their success.
  • Cross-train and provide backup on all duties within the core team.
  • Complete all enterprise assigned and Comerica Trust specific training activities in a timely manner.
  • Train system users, both internal and external, on workable processes and procedural changes.
