Amusement Ride Maintenance Technician

Overview:
The Amusement Ride Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting inspections, performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and executing repairs on a diverse range of amusement rides and attractions.
Key responsibilities encompass (but are not limited to) the upkeep of: gear systems, chains, sprockets, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, wire ropes, hoists, braking systems, pumps, and large bearings.
Climbing and working safely at heights is a crucial aspect of this role.Hourly Pay Rate:
Level 1:
$22.50/hr. - $28.13/hr. Level 2: $28.64/hr. - $36.23/hr.
Level 3: $35.44/hr. - $44.30/hr. **The hourly pay rate offered is contingent upon job-related experience, knowledge, and skills, among other factors.
Standard benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401K, vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay.Responsibilities:
Conducts daily, weekly, monthly, annual, and other necessary inspections of amusement rides and associated equipment as assigned; taking corrective measures as issues arise.
Inspections are both visual and auditory.Performs scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance, inspects, repairs, and tests amusement rides and related equipment.
This may involve the repair or replacement of major components such as hydraulic cylinders, gears, chains, sprockets, pneumatic cylinders, hoses, brakes, clutches, wheels, bearings, gearboxes, springs, or a wide variety of other mechanical devices.
Troubleshoots various mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems and implements appropriate corrective actions.Adheres to all repair protocols and maintains precise documentation of all repairs.
Maintains organized and accurate records of all required inspections and work performed, and submits necessary paperwork to supervision promptly.
Communicates the status of assigned rides both verbally and in written format.Ensures all assigned equipment is maintained in a safe and operational condition in accordance with all applicable codes, laws, rules, company policies, and best practices.
Works safely and efficiently on all assigned tasks, coordinating with others as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.Performs a variety of additional tasks depending on experience, including welding (Mig, Tig, and Arc) and fabrication; sets up and operates lathe, mill, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking equipment.
Reads, comprehends, and applies information from manufacturer's manuals for service, repair, and/or component replacement.Accurately interprets blueprints (mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic).
Provides guest service in accordance with company standards when interacting with guests or collaborating with colleagues, including initiating guest interactions, answering inquiries, and providing directions.Maintains cleanliness and safety in the assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with safety guidelines and requirements, reporting any unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to accommodate business needs.Meets attendance requirements as outlined in company policies.
Adheres to company Rules of Conduct, including specific grooming and attire standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other division-specific policies and procedures.
Other duties may be assigned.Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Skills:
Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and understand measurements using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and to interpret bar graphs. Ability to communicate effectively in English, sufficient to comprehend basic instructions from supervisors, conduct interactions with other employees, and answer simple questions. Regularly utilizes moderately complex oral and written communication skills.
May train others in functional areas and interact with others across the company and/or externally. May present information to department or middle management.In-depth knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures with the ability to apply them in varied situations that may impact a work unit or area within a department. May contribute to business and operational decisions affecting the department.
