Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our Cardiovascular Services team at UCHealth Medical Center of the Rockies. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Setup: Prepare the surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment, and supplies to ensure a smooth and efficient procedure.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the good working order of equipment and instruments, and assist with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
  • Instrument Management: Pass instruments to the physician during surgery, and continually account for the number and location of instruments and supplies during the procedure.
  • Specimen Processing: Receive and process specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Utilize critical thinking skills and decisive judgment to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action when necessary.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: High School diploma or equivalent, and state Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration.
  • Experience: 6 months of Surgical Tech experience or graduation from an accredited Surgical Tech program.
  • Certifications: BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, with a valid card in hand before start date.
