Position Overview: We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Civil/Environmental Engineer to become a vital part of the Environmental Services Engineering division at Burns & McDonnell. This division focuses on a variety of initiatives concerning waste management, stormwater management, site planning, remediation efforts, biogas projects, and sustainability practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee multiple facets of projects, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, timeline, quality standards, safety protocols, and client satisfaction.
  • Utilize established civil and environmental engineering methodologies to execute project tasks effectively.
  • Provide comprehensive engineering assistance throughout all phases of projects, from initial planning to final construction.
  • Perform a range of project-related tasks, including the creation of engineering drawings and technical specifications, conducting thorough research, and supervising inspections.
  • Guide and mentor junior staff, engage in necessary training, and manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Completion of the Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in the field.
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities and experience.
  • Active participation in professional organizations.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • Familiarity with software tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM (Revit), ArcGIS, and stormwater modeling applications.
  • Willingness to travel for project-related and marketing purposes.
