Job Title: Advanced Pharmacy Technician at Concord Hospital

Overview

As an Advanced Pharmacy Technician at Concord Hospital, you will collaborate closely with a licensed Pharmacist or Pharmacy Manager to facilitate the preparation, distribution, and administration of medications across various healthcare settings, including patient care units and outpatient clinics. Your role will also encompass the preparation of intravenous (IV) solutions, along with various administrative responsibilities and projects aimed at enhancing your technical skills and overall job performance.

Educational Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory. Preference will be given to candidates with certification as a Pharmacy Technician from an accredited institution.

Licensure and Certification

Registration in the state of New Hampshire is essential. Candidates must possess either CPhT certification or be registered as a pharmacy intern in New Hampshire.

Experience Requirements

Within two years of employment, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in preparing IV infusions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilizes appropriate techniques to prepare all IV solutions in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Processes, updates, and delivers patient medications, including labeling premixed IV solutions.
  • Supports administrative functions, IV room operations, and automation processes.
  • Manages floor stock, delivers and retrieves narcotics, and triages incoming phone inquiries.
  • Packages and labels medications, and refills emergency code carts and medication kits.
  • Conducts monthly inspections of units and performs pharmacy delivery tasks.
  • Engages in additional projects or responsibilities as assigned.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

This position requires medium material handling as defined by the Dictionary of Occupational Titles. The role may involve lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling various weights. The job necessitates standing, repetitive motions, fine motor skills, reaching, verbal communication, and walking. Specific visual abilities are required, and exposure to diverse work environments may occur.
