If you are passionate about service excellence and high-quality care, we invite you to consider joining our team. *Position will be posted for a minimum of 7 business days.Key Responsibilities:
- Fill prescription items in accordance with the State Board of Pharmacy regulations, packaging medications for dispensing and delivery while meeting the pharmacy's accuracy and productivity standards.
- Label products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels.
- Participate in the periodic inventory of the pharmacy.
- May check in drugs and supplies, stock shelves, and remove expired items from inventory.
- Prepare medications including emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments, which may involve non-sterile compounding.
- Communicate with internal and external customers in a courteous and professional manner.
- May process returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.
- Assist in training new employees.
- Also perform at least one of the following:
- Work in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room;
- Operate automated machines to prepack drugs;
- Manage inventory functions such as monitoring pharmaceutical levels and identifying expired medications, adhering to the pharmacy standard for Days on Hand;
- Input patient data and medication orders into a computer system to produce labels (data entry);
- Mix/package IV medications, sanitize IV room, equipment, and hood;
- Service facility-based medication dispensing machines (e.g., RxNow);
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a pharmacy setting and familiarity with medical terminology.
- Ability to operate a computer; ability to recognize and identify medications.
- Detail-oriented; goal-oriented, team player with effective oral communication skills.
- Pharmacy Technician license.
Preferred:
- Experience in Long Term Care pharmacy.
