POSITION SUMMARY

The Affordable Housing Management Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the continuum of affordable housing for single adults, ensuring effective property management services while supervising a dedicated property manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the affordable housing portfolio in the Metro West area, providing direct property management services for over 140 housing units.
  • Oversee tenant recruitment and selection processes, ensuring compliance with program regulations and verifying applicant qualifications.
  • Lead the Metro West Housing & Property Management team, collaborating with the Program Director to maintain program stability and support client progress.
  • Handle operational and financial activities, including staffing, budgeting, and achieving financial objectives.
  • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate staff, ensuring timely training and performance assessments in line with company policies.
  • Represent the organization at regional meetings, advocating for the Metro West housing continuum.
  • Facilitate supportive housing activities that empower clients in their recovery journey, enhancing their quality of life and independence.
  • Ensure regular house meetings are conducted at properties.
  • Monitor occupancy and rental income, addressing account receivables, collections, and evictions to meet financial goals.
  • Integrate new properties into the housing continuum effectively.
  • Collaborate with Property Managers to maintain full occupancy and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in staff and team meetings to foster communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with various funding sources and maintain accurate databases.
  • Report maintenance issues promptly and monitor the completion of requests.
  • Represent the organization in housing court as necessary.
  • Facilitate referrals to other organizational programs as needed.
  • Submit required documentation to the Housing Office in a timely manner.
  • Manage rent collection, security deposits, evictions, tenant issues, and annual inspections.
  • Provide emergency support during evenings and weekends.
  • Engage with clients to understand and address their needs comprehensively.
  • Attend engagement team meetings and follow up on client service plans, ensuring effective communication.
  • Ensure adherence to program, agency, and funding requirements, as well as organizational policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree required, along with relevant experience.
  • Experience working with homeless or disadvantaged populations is essential.
  • A minimum of 2 years of management experience is required, preferably in a decentralized setting.
  • Familiarity with 12-step recovery programs is advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Word and Excel, is required.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are mandatory.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are crucial.
  • Ability to work independently and execute assigned responsibilities effectively.
  • Experience working with diverse groups in various environments is essential.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to navigate stairs.
  • Capability to drive as required.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

  • This position reports directly to the Director of Housing & Supported Services.
  • Supervises Property Managers and Assistant Property Managers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role involves regular travel to residential properties, which may lack elevators. Night and weekend coverage may be necessary. The position may involve direct or incidental contact with clients served by the organization in various programs.
