Job Summary

The Senior Hardware-in-Loop (HIL) Test Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our Drive Unit (DU) embedded software. This position involves testing the software under various operating environments, fault conditions, and stress scenarios to improve its functionality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute HIL test cases for motor controls and software features.
  • Expand test coverage to meet software functional safety requirements.
  • Perform regression tests, report bugs, provide debugging support, and conduct development validation testing for the team.
  • Upgrade and maintain HIL test stations and other related lab equipment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in software testing and development, with a focus on the automotive industry.
  • Proficiency in C and Python programming languages.
  • Understanding of electrical circuit concepts and basic schematics.
  • Familiarity with testing and quality assurance processes, as well as experience with requirement and issue tracking management tools.
  • Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with various teams, including software developers, test and integration engineers, and system architects.
Compensation and Benefits

Rivian offers a competitive salary range of $135,100 - $168,900 for Northern California-based applicants, with actual compensation determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. We also provide robust medical, dental, and vision insurance packages for full-time employees and their families.
