Lead Propulsion Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Test Conductor, managing and executing hotfire testing procedures.
  • Oversee hazardous operations, including the handling of high-pressure fluids.
  • Develop comprehensive test protocols for hazardous activities.
  • Facilitate Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs).
  • Collaborate with test stand technicians during engine installation and testing phases.
  • Work closely with Ground Support Equipment (GSE) engineers to design and modify fluid and electrical systems on engine test stands.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the design, operation, and development of fluid systems.
  • Proven experience in hardware testing methodologies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in propulsion within a collegiate rocket program.
  • Familiarity with cryogenic fluid handling.
  • Proficiency in NX and Teamcenter software.
  • Experience using Epsilon3.
  • Knowledge of JIRA and Confluence.
  • Background in constructing and testing high-pressure fluid and gas systems.
  • Skills in tube fitting and bending, with an understanding of industry fitting systems.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to work overtime or weekends to meet critical mission deadlines.
  • Capability to lift up to 25 lbs without assistance.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% to testing locations.
