**Position Overview**

The Test and Validation division is responsible for assessing market-specific Infotainment and Connectivity systems and services across North America. This role is crucial in overseeing test and validation tasks throughout the vehicle model and service development lifecycle. The Lead Automation Testing Engineer for Infotainment & Connectivity plays a pivotal role in ensuring prompt resolution of all matters related to test automation, including the development of test cases, execution of tests, and comprehensive reporting in collaboration with Test Engineers and external partners.

This position serves as the primary liaison for Porsche Engineering Services US, managing technical projects that pertain to a defined range of Porsche models. This role demands strong leadership capabilities and a commitment to staying updated with the latest advancements in test automation technology.


**Key Responsibilities**
  • Analyze requirement documentation and develop, implement, and maintain automated test cases using various tools.
  • Design and execute test cases, integrating new testing devices and technologies as necessary.
  • Establish a test automation execution environment, including the necessary lab IT infrastructure.
  • Deliver training on test automation practices to fellow test engineers.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute test runs while monitoring project objectives.
  • Evaluate and document test outcomes, providing feedback and coordinating with relevant development teams.
  • Assist in analyzing defect reports.
  • Support test management activities, including planning, test coverage, and coordination of qualifications.
  • Collaborate with test managers on development milestones and Product Increment (PI) planning.
  • Prepare and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess test automation progress and escalate critical issues to management.
  • Facilitate the onboarding of new team members and suppliers by sharing technical knowledge and familiarizing them with team processes and tools.
  • Work closely with international test automation teams to exchange project insights and enhance process efficiencies.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of test activities in designated systems and provide regular reports to test managers.

**Qualifications**

**Required Qualifications:**

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the automotive sector in an engineering or related capacity.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Python.
  • Experience with connectivity and infotainment systems, along with a solid understanding of IT infrastructure and software architecture for vehicle connectivity services.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex topics to diverse audiences.
  • A collaborative mindset, thriving in team-oriented environments.
  • Familiarity with agile software testing methodologies.
  • Experience with the Atlassian tool suite.
  • ISTQB certification.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of automotive control units and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) systems.
  • Innovative thinking, strong communication, and teamwork skills, with a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering services.
  • Solid understanding of Infotainment and Connected Car services, including their testing and validation.
  • Familiarity with German language and culture is a plus.
  • Ideal candidates are organized, adaptable, and process-oriented, with a strong ability to work collaboratively.

**Compensation and Travel Requirements:**

The salary range for this position is competitive, reflecting the candidate's experience and qualifications. Travel requirements are minimal, with less than 5% expected for domestic business trips.

This role involves both office and lab settings, utilizing standard office equipment. Candidates should be comfortable with physical activity and may be exposed to varying noise levels and environmental conditions.
