General Overview:
Accountable for the configuration, installation, upkeep, and troubleshooting of computer systems, software applications, telecommunication devices, network infrastructure, and production information systems.
Collaborates closely with the IT management team to ensure adherence to corporate desktop standards and IT protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
A. Provide technical support to production facilities regarding information technology and systems utilizing established standard systems and best practices.
  • Install, set up, and resolve issues with hardware and software (including desktop and laptop computers, printers, network devices, routers, wireless access points, and other essential hardware and software).
  • Offer assistance for telecommunication systems.
  • Conduct server backups.
  • Implement necessary updates and enhancements to servers, computers, and software as they become available.
  • Document standardized procedures for facility-wide use.
  • Create documentation for systems procedures and applications to serve as an IT reference guide.
B. Deliver support to IT end users.
  • Act as the first point of contact for IT help desk support for end users.
  • Provide desktop and laptop assistance for issues related to hardware, software (e.g., Microsoft Office), active directory, email, printing, and networking.
  • Ensure that virus protection and anti-spyware programs are consistently updated.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve any IT-related challenges.
C. Aid in the implementation and maintenance of production systems and interfaces for manufacturing locations.
  • Support and deploy production systems as directed by management and company policy.
  • Troubleshoot IT-related issues to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Experience:
  • Over 4 years of experience providing IT support in a manufacturing setting required (preferably in the automotive sector).
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and shop floor operations.
  • Experience in a Japanese-style work environment is preferred.

  • Comprehensive understanding and practical knowledge of help desk and production system applications.

  • Availability before and after regular hours to assist with IT systems and support team members as needed.

Language Proficiency:
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely in verbal and written English.
  • Knowledge of Japanese and/or Spanish is advantageous.

Technical Proficiency:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Windows, and other computer applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, Lotus Notes/Outlook, Internet, etc.).
  • Experience with Help Desk software systems.
  • Preferred strong understanding of MS Active Directory, MS Windows Server, telecommunication servers, network cabling, and SQL databases.

Travel Requirements:
Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the team member is required to communicate effectively, see, and hear. The team member must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods. Occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds. Ability to sit and work on a computer for extended periods is necessary. Travel by automobile and airplane is also required.
