Financial Operations Specialist

I General Overview:
Execute month-end responsibilities including journal entries, labor and expense evaluations, sales and cost of goods sold assessments, and balance sheet account reconciliations. Conduct accounting tasks related to inventory receipt confirmations and accounts payable data analysis along with general administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:
A. Validate inventory receipt data against packing documentation and maintain supporting records.
B. Classify incoming accounts payable invoices in the Inspyrus system and submit for approval.
C. Organize accounts payable invoices and associated documentation.
D. Analyze and generate monthly reports regarding manufacturing variances and purchase price discrepancies.
E. Assess the accuracy of purchased material standard costs. Monitor all changes in standard costs and selling prices.
F.
Assist with (co-chair) quarterly physical inventory counts and the annual physical inventory of fixed assets, including tagging as necessary.
G. Compile and disseminate scrap data.H. Review inventory value reports for inconsistencies and implement adjustments as required.
I. Complete month-end accounting closing tasks such as journal entries, health insurance reviews, labor analysis, and intercompany charges.
J. Prepare monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
Additional Responsibilities for Development/Cross-Training:

Facilitate all payroll processes within the facility and act as a liaison between staff and the payroll department regarding timekeeping, supplemental pay, garnishments, etc.
L. Generate internal payroll reports, including overtime, for management evaluation.. Assist with internal/external audit inquiries and reporting.
M. Provide support for special requests and reports as necessary.
N. Collaborate on BOM audits with Production Control (PC) and Manufacturing, and engage in BOM cost breakdowns (tear downs).

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- At least four (4) years of experience in an Accounting position within a manufacturing setting.
- Proficient understanding of basic cost accounting, business finance, standard costing, and inventory valuation.
- Requires knowledge of the interconnections between cost accounting and data processing.
- Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.
- General comprehension and practical knowledge of fundamental accounting principles.
- Excellent customer service skills for both internal and external stakeholders (collaborates with all departments).
- Ability to maintain specified financial files, records, and logs (particularly Excel spreadsheets).
- Capability to research and compile data for reports, recaps, and summaries (visualization).
- Strong initiative and sound judgment are essential for efficient task completion, accuracy, and adherence to timelines.
- Comprehensive knowledge of company accounting/financial reporting procedures, policies, and requirements.
- Excellent mathematical skills.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and terminology.
- Must be highly detail-oriented.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (knowledge of Japanese or Spanish is advantageous).
- Requires strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., Oracle) is beneficial, but not mandatory
- Solid working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and other computer applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).

While performing the duties of this position, the team member is required to talk, see, and hear.
