POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Investment and Gift Financial Management will oversee the financial reporting, compliance, analysis, control, and enhancement of intricate accounting and financial operations related to investments and donations. This role entails:

  • Accurate reporting of investment and gift metrics.
  • Ensuring adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) in the United States.
  • Analyzing fluctuations in investment and gift valuations for senior leadership.
  • Serving as the primary liaison in Controllership for all inquiries regarding gifts and investments.
  • Managing the Pool A endowment disbursement within SAP.
  • Administering the accounting for life-income and donor-advised giving initiatives.
  • Supervising an accounting officer and a senior staff accountant.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

REQUIRED:

A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline; a minimum of seven years of experience in accounting and/or finance, including account reconciliation; thorough understanding of accounting principles and pertinent federal regulations, particularly those relevant to research and nonprofit sectors; extensive knowledge of general accounting and financial reporting; exceptional customer service, problem identification, resolution, collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills; proficiency in Excel and Word; and familiarity with reporting tools such as BrioQuery, Cognos, or Tableau.

PREFERRED:

An MBA or master's degree in a related field; CPA certification; experience with SAP or similar accounting and reporting systems; and a background in higher education or nonprofit accounting.


SALARY RANGE:

$100,000 - $135,000
