Job Overview

Mika Coral Gables is seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist the Executive Chef in executing our culinary vision and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create refined dishes that showcase creativity and quality ingredients.
  • Ensure consistency and excellence in food presentation, taste, and portion control.
  • Manage inventory, procurement, and cost control to optimize food quality and profitability.
  • Help recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Implement and enforce sanitation and safety procedures to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Collaborate with the restaurant management team to achieve financial goals and enhance guest satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef in a high-end establishment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • In-depth knowledge of various culinary techniques, ingredients, and international cuisines.
  • Solid understanding of kitchen management principles, including inventory control and cost analysis.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
