Technical Position Description

As a Mechanical Installation Technician, you will play a critical role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex mechanical systems at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. This position requires a strong background in mechanical engineering and a proven ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary range of $22.00 to $27.00 per hour, with opportunities for overtime and bonuses. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience and possess excellent mechanical skills, problem-solving abilities, and leadership qualities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, test, and commission complex mechanical systems
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment and machinery
  • Develop and implement solutions to technical problems and challenges
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective completion of tasks
Requirements
  • Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience as a Mechanical Installation Technician
  • Strong background in mechanical engineering and technical skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and leadership qualities
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures
