Job Description

As a Senior Mechanical Propulsion Technician with our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of marine propulsion equipment. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • ">
  • Maintenance and repair of mechanical propulsion systems, including cleaning, inspecting, and evaluating parts for repair or replacement;">
  • Carrying out repair work on well-defined problems, with some assistance from technical support;">
  • Verifying dimensions and clearances to ensure conformance to specification;">
  • Conducting tests and inspections to QA/QC standards;">
  • Reading blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly;">
  • Inspecting, analyzing, and recording calibration results, as well as producing Service and Technical Reports;">
  • Ensuring that all work is done in accordance with applicable legal and company procedures;">
  • Creating customer contact logs and issue monitors for ongoing customer and contract management;">
  • Advising customers on other products and pursuing upgrade opportunities on vessels of work;">
  • Providing receipts and details of costs for accurate customer invoicing;">
  • Knowledge sharing and supporting the on-the-job development of Service Technicians where appropriate.">

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • ">
  • Active duty military experience with mechanical propulsion equipment (Navy Nuke MMs, Navy GSMs, conventional MMs);">
  • A good understanding and knowledge of a range of products, systems, their functionality, and applications gained through experience working in a technician role;">
  • Strong verbal communication and written reporting skills in English;">
  • Basic IT skills and some commercial awareness.">
