Job Title: Heavy Industry Mechanic

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Industry Mechanic to join our team at Shipyard Staffing LLC. This is a unique opportunity to work on a variety of heavy industry projects, utilizing your skills and knowledge to install, repair, and maintain complex equipment.

Job Description:

As a Heavy Industry Mechanic, you will be responsible for comprehending and utilizing blueprints, sketches, drawings, technical manuals, and work process instructions to perform your duties. Your tasks will include testing and inspecting boiler systems for leaks or defects, replacing or repairing valves, using hand and power tools, and cleaning of boilers and boiler furnaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test and inspect boiler systems for leaks or defects
  • Replace or repair valves, using hand and power tools
  • Cleaning of boilers and boiler furnaces
  • Inspect assembled vessels and individual components, such as tubes, fittings, valves, controls, and auxiliary mechanisms, to locate any defects
  • Install manholes, handholes, taps, tubes, valves, gauges, and feedwater connections in drums of water tube boilers, using hand tools
  • Clean pressure vessel equipment, using scrapers, wire brushes, and cleaning solvents
  • Install refractory brick in fireboxes
  • Use blueprints to determine locations, positions, or dimensions of parts
  • Able to read, interpret, and follow procedures
  • Competent in reading and understanding specifications and drawings
  • Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to current or daily job duties
  • Able to climb stairs and ladders, up to 200 rungs/steps per hour
  • Able to access confined spaces

Requirements:

  • Must possess 5 years of experience in Boiler, heat exchanger, and valve repair
  • Able to obtain DBIDS/TWIC credentials

Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), direct deposit, and referral bonus opportunities.
