Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Analytical Chemist to join our team at Quest Diagnostics. As a key member of our Research and Development department, you will be responsible for managing analytical projects, supervising projects from assay design to implementation, and providing technical expertise in maintaining current testing reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise analytical projects in R&D, including assay design, validation, and implementation.
  • Manage special projects in R&D, including coordination of resources and personnel.
  • Perform statistical analysis and validation of new methods, providing written summaries for method documentation.
  • Train staff in new methods, including technical and instrumental aspects.
  • Serve as a resource for HPLC, GC, GC/MS, and LC-MS/MS related questions.
  • Write technical proposals soliciting drug analysis services and contribute to business proposals for these solicitations.
  • Maintain present testing reliability, including diagnosing test failures and implementing corrective action.
  • Provide technical understanding of analytical techniques, with particular emphasis on instrumental methods of analysis.
  • Responsible for informing the appropriate supervisor of all problems associated with the proper performance of test procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of all corrective and preventive maintenance to satisfy licensing requirements.
  • Actively support and comply with laboratory policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • 6 years of R&D experience with extensive experience in HPLC, Gas Chromatography, GC/MS, LC-MS/MS, AA, and ICP/MS.
  • Bachelor's Degree (Required), Master's Degree preferred.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods.
