POSITION SUMMARY

New Health MD is seeking a dedicated, professional, and patient-centered Healthcare Assistant/Phlebotomist to contribute to our dynamic team. This role involves providing essential administrative support to facilitate the smooth operation of our medical facility. As a Certified Medical Assistant, your primary responsibilities will encompass assisting healthcare providers and managing patient care tasks with precision and efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct patient interviews and accurately document medical histories.
  • Coordinate and manage appointment schedules.
  • Maintain and organize medical records and insurance documentation.
  • Facilitate patient admissions and laboratory services.
  • Prepare patient charts and ensure timely follow-ups.
  • Assist during medical examinations and procedures.
  • Generate and distribute necessary correspondence, including memos and reports.
  • Manage financial records, including accounts receivable and payable.
  • Ensure treatment rooms and medical instruments are prepared and sanitized.
  • Communicate treatment procedures clearly to patients.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians as needed.
  • Accurately record vital signs in the EMR/EHR system.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests as required.
  • Instruct patients regarding medications and dietary requirements.
  • Administer medications, including injections, as directed by a licensed provider.
  • Conduct phlebotomy procedures.
  • Perform electrocardiograms and manage wound care.
  • Administrative tasks may include:
    • Utilizing healthcare software applications.
    • Answering phone inquiries.
    • Welcoming and assisting patients.
    • Scheduling and confirming appointments.
    • Managing correspondence and patient follow-ups.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Medical Assistant Certification is required; an Associate's Degree in a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Assistant is essential.
  • Strong organizational skills to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Familiarity with procurement of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Proficiency in healthcare administration systems, such as Kareo and MediXcel EMR.
