Spacecraft Development Engineer at Impulse

Become a vital member of the Impulse team as a Spacecraft Development Engineer, where you will engage in innovative projects aimed at enhancing the swift advancement and operation of spacecraft. Work alongside a talented group in a dynamic and agile setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the definition and verification of requirements, conduct system-level analysis, and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Support all stages of the spacecraft lifecycle, ensuring thorough oversight.
  • Deliver complete spacecraft or significant subsystems through critical phases of development.
  • Collaborate effectively with design and manufacturing teams to create high-quality hardware.
  • Ensure that both hardware and software performance align with established expectations.
  • Assist in the preparation, planning, and execution of system-level testing.
  • Address technical challenges with creative and effective solutions.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with mechanical, fluid, or electrical systems.
  • Proven expertise in the design, fabrication, and testing of hardware components.
  • Experience in project ownership and the ability to thrive in a small team environment.
  • Competence in CAD software for hardware design.
Desirable Skills:
  • Master's degree in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering with applicable experience.
  • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, mechanics, and materials science.
  • Familiarity with analysis software such as MATLAB and Excel.
  • Previous experience in development and testing environments.
  • Background in startup or agile development contexts.
