Sleep Technologist

As a Sleep Technologist at SSM Health, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders. You will be responsible for preparing patients and equipment for testing, interviewing patients to determine sleep disorder issues, and explaining testing procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients and equipment for testing, ensuring accurate and efficient results.
- Interview patients to determine sleep disorder issues and explain testing procedures, providing clear and concise information.
- Perform and document testing, monitoring patients throughout the process and intervening as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues.
- Apply patient monitoring devices and record physiologic calibrations, ensuring accurate data collection.
- Collect, analyze, and integrate patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs, scoring, interpreting, and reporting results of sleep studies.
- Prepare, calibrate, repair, and maintain equipment required for testing, determining and reporting needed repairs or replacements.
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) certification from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) or the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data to inform patient care decisions.
